Staying on Track with My Weight Loss Journey: Small Wins That Matter

Today, I wanted to jot down a quick note in my weight loss journal because I’m genuinely proud of myself. It might not seem like much, but for anyone on a weight loss journey, you know how important mindset and habits are.

Overcoming Emotional Eating

This morning didn’t go as planned. The girls and I woke up late, and by the time my daughters were dressed, it was too late to make it to church. Normally, that would’ve sent me into frustration, and honestly, I might’ve reached for comfort food in the past. But today was different. Instead of turning to food for comfort, I chose peace and gave myself permission to rest a little longer. That’s progress!

Managing Hunger and Supplements

When I finally got up for the day, I expected to feel starving, but surprisingly, I wasn’t hungry. Then I remembered why: I had taken two Lipo-6 fat-burning capsules and a natural diuretic earlier that morning. Those helped suppress my appetite and keep me feeling light and energized.

By the time I started moving around, it was 11:30 a.m., basically brunch time. However, I didn’t sit down for lunch until around 7 p.m. That’s not ideal, but I had to remind myself that balance is key. I don’t want to under-eat because that can cause a weight loss stall, which I’ve learned the hard way before.

What I Ate Today (Low-Carb Menu)

Here’s what my daily low-carb meals looked like today:

🍳 Breakfast: 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon cooked in butter

🍔 Lunch: Turkey burger with 2 slices of turkey bacon

🐟 Dinner: 1 small piece of tilapia and another turkey burger with turkey bacon and chipotle cheese

I didn’t track my water perfectly today, but I know I drank at least 2 liters; hydration is a big part of my healthy lifestyle routine.

Reflecting on Progress

I’m proud that I didn’t let emotions or missed plans derail my day. Learning to manage emotional triggers is such an important part of sustainable weight loss. Every small victory adds up, and today was one of those days that reminded me how far I’ve come.
